The tension has been rising in the eastern Mediterranean as Turkey intensifies her drilling activities.

The Royal Air Forces jets are reportedly have left the scene after the Turkish Air Forces interception.
Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha has been a target of the Greek Navy in the recent days. For retribution, Turkish Naval Forces provided the vessel with the utmost security. After a Greek frigate harassed the Turkish research ship in the Eastern Mediterranean on Thursday, Turkish Naval Forces Command units have started patrols in the region while seismic exploration is conducted.
Turkey’s seismic research vessel- Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha- is now being protected by 2 Turkish Naval Forces frigates, 2 patrol boats and probably by 1 undetected submarine after Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha vessel was harassed by the Greek Navy in the Mediterranean
The seismic research vessel Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha vessel will continue to carry out further exploration within the protective circle of the Naval Forces, according to information received from diplomatic sources.
Turkey had issued a Navtex, an advisory to ships including coordinates, that it would be conducting seismic surveys in the Mediterranean Sea from Oct. 18 to Feb. 1.
Making a statement about the issue, Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on October 22,2018: "No steps or fait accompli against Turkey will be allowed in Cyprus, the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean.
"Everyone should know that any project excluding Turkey and the TRNC in the Aegean and Mediterranean does not have chance to exist and everyone should abandon and avoid any provocation that will jeopardize the region," Akar added.
