Turkey and GNA did its part but Haftar didn't: Turkish President Erdoğan
Turkish President Erdoğan criticized Haftar for leaving Moscow without signing a deal. Even tough the Government of National Accord(GNA) agreed to sign the ceasefire agreement, Haftar left Moscow without signing anything, Erdoğan said.
The GNA's PM Sarraj and the leader of LNA Haftar sat down at the table yesterday for a ceasefire deal. Turkish and Russian delegations were also present at the meeting. After hours of negotiations, Haftar asked for more time to consider the deal, however Haftar delegation left Moscow today without signing the deal.
"We are not after adventure in Syria, Libya, Mediterranean. We have no imperial desires nor are we blinded with greed for oil or money. Our sole purpose is to protect our and our brothers' rights and future,"Erdoğan said. He added Turkey will teach a lesson to Haftar, if he continues to attack Libyans.
A military source told Turkish state-run Anadolu Agency that Haftar forces are preparing to launch new attack in Southern Tripoli.
On Jan. 12, the warring sides in the Libyan conflict announced a cease-fire in response to the call of Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
