Security forces and armed individuals clash in Cairo
Clashes broke out between Egyptian security forces and armed individuals in the Al-Amiriyah district of Cairo, leading to the death of 6 armed men and one high-ranking Egyptian Army Officer
EGYPT — Egyptian Special Forces raided a cell located in Al-Amiriyah district of the country’s capital city Cairo at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

During a meeting between armed individuals that got out from prison recently in the well known anti-regime district of Cairo, security forces of Egypt raided the cell and clashes erupted between two parties afterwards.
As violent clashes in the area continued, security forces dispatched a large number of reinforcements against the armed individuals.
A complete electricity blackout was reported as well in the whole district where fierce clashes could be heard by residents.

According to Egyptian media, the clashes lasted for 4 hours, local media reports that all of the 6 armed men were neutralised in the clashes and a high-ranking Egyptian Army officer was killed as well.
