Former Manchester United player Clive Rogers regains his health in Turkey
Ex-Manchester United player Clive Rogers regained his health in Turkey's Adıyaman. He was unable to get treatment in the UK, due to the lack of experienced doctors.
Rogers' wife noticed a mole on his back and got suspicious. They decided to see a doctor in Wales and he was told that they couldn't diagnose any disease. He decided to pay a visit to his son-in-law in Turkey's Adıyaman, who is a doctor at Adıyaman Training and Research Hospital. After seeing a doctor in Adıyaman, he was diagnosed with a skin cancer.
He decided to undergo chemotherapy to treat his skin cancer in Adıyaman. After months of treatment, he underwent a surgery and the mole on his back was removed. According to doctors at the hospital, his body gives a good response to chemotherapy and they hope that Roger will be cancer-free.
Rogers thanks to Turkish health care system, he says:''It would have taken months for me to find out that I had cancer, if I hadn't come to Turkey''. He thinks that healthcare system in Turkey is far more better than the one in the UK. He says: '' Even for MRI, wait times can be long as 6 months''. He says that he wouldn't have survived if he hadn't get the treatment neeed for the cancer.
Even tough he still lives in the UK, he visits Turkey to contiue his treatment for cancer.
